The Maryland Department of Aging provides gently used and new durable medical equipment (DME) to Marylanders with any illness, injury, or disability, regardless of age.
This service will improve the quality of life for many Maryland residents and provides them the opportunity to avoid costlier levels of care.
The DME Program is key to supporting The Department of Aging's mission of striving for independence and dignity for older adults.
This position is the foundation of the department's efforts toward that goal as it is the first point of contact with the community for this program.
The main purpose of this position is phone and email management, planning and coordinating client visits and exchange of equipment, assisting clients and other visitors as they navigate the program in-person and over the phone, ensuring completion and filing of client documents, and assisting with client equipment donation and distribution.
This work includes maintaining schedules of staff and clients, maintaining records of clients, and ensuring our office provides a welcoming environment for clients and visitors.
Position Duties:
This position is responsible for customer service, phone management, coordinating the schedule of equipment delivery and distribution, client reminder phone calls, staff and client scheduling for equipment donation and distribution, and may have responsibility for planning and implementing program promotion and marketing through events and an online media presence.
This position is also responsible for maintaining updated client intake forms and files, coordination and contact with program partners and satellite sites, inventory software management, data tracking, and maintaining records of client phone calls and interactions.
This position is also responsible for assisting with client fittings, equipment demonstrations, and training of participants and/or caregivers.

Qualifications:
Experience:
Two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.

Qualifications:
Strong preference will be given to applicants that possess the following preferred qualification(s).

-- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in office administration, management or related field preferred.
-- Five years of experience in the following areas:
Use of Email (Gmail), Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Proven experience as an office coordinator or in a similar role Knowledge of basic bookkeeping principles and office management systems and procedures Working knowledge of office equipment (fax, printer, copier, phone systems, etc.
) -- Experience with durable medical equipment distribution.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
